NDIS, Work Cover, DVA & other Third Party Services

NDIS

At Hills Street Sports Medicine, all our practitioners are NDIS (National Disabilities Insurance Scheme) qualified and trained. We accept and care for all NDIS clients and work towards providing a service that will effectively attend to physical, social and emotional goals. A functional focus on ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) is a priority, whilst promoting independence and improving or maintaining current capacity. We provide service agreements, progress reports and regular contact with support or primary carers when necessary or requested.

Some common conditions that we see as part of the NDIS include:

  • Spinal Cord Injuries
  • Neurological Conditions (Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury)
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Amputees
  • Depression/Anxiety
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Motor Neurone Disease

Work Cover

At Hills Street Sports Medicine, our exercise physiologists are work cover (SIRA) qualified and trained.

We accept all Work Cover and Insurance claimed services and will work closely with the individual, rehabilitation provider and case manager, to return the individual to pre-injury duties and roles.

Our functional services come with approval from AHRR reports and allow regular modifications whenever the individual needs them.

DVA

At Hills Street Sports Medicine we accept all Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) referrals from gold, white, and orange as well as total physical impairment (TPI).

All of our university-trained exercise physiologists are passionate about helping people regain, maintain and develop their function in life. Rehabilitation support and services provided by DVA are designed to help former ADF members, cadets and declared members to adapt, manage and recover following their service-related injury or disease.

Here at Hills Street Sports Medicine, we love nothing more than getting you back to doing what you love most. We get great joy seeing you improve your daily living, whether that be retraining you to walk, or just improving your ability to move without pain. We are far more than a sports clinic, and helping and treating those with complex conditions is extremely rewarding for us.

Please contact us to discuss an appropriate program for your needs. We are also happy to answer any questions you may have about finding a program that is safe and suitable for you. It is recommended you get a clearance from your doctor before beginning an exercise program.

Our Unique Advantage

Our unique advantage is our collaborative multidisciplinary team. We are fortunate to have Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Orthopaedic Specialists, Massage Therapists, and Psychologists, who all work under one roof. This allows us to closely work together to provide our patients with a true collaborative management plan addressing all Biopsychosocial factors. This allows our patients to get access to the leaders in their fields to ensure they get the best care possible.

In addition to this, we have access to an extensive range of specialist equipment in our onsite functional rehabilitation centre. Our fully equipped and functional rehabilitation gym houses specialist equipment which is specific to the rehabilitation of certain injuries. With 35 years of excellent service on the Central Coast, Hills Street Sports Medicine is one of the longest established multi-discipline Sports Medicine Centres in Australia.
